Caffiene/ Alcohol Question

How long (Weeks/Months) before your surgery did you stop drinking alcohol and caffiene????

I don't drink much alcohol so I can't remember when last I had it but I had caffeinated tea (lots of it) the night before surgery. I gave up smoking 12 days before surgery too. LOL I've given up caffeine, nicotine and food. I can't believe I haven't killed someone yet (not literally KWIM)

Gave up caffeine midnight the night before surgery but had reduced it to very small amounts during pre-op diet. I don't smoke or drink so that wasn't an issue.

I drank my last diet Dr Pepper at 10 pm the night before surgery. And I was close to a six pack a day habit.

That worked out pretty well for me because during the first few days of caffeine withdrawal I was on pain meds and didn't feel it.

i've been drinking coffee with a little milk for a couple weeks now. & have the occasional glass of red wine. I have to be careful with the wine tho b/c the rest in the bottle looks sooo lonely heehee.

It was about 4 weeks after surgery before I had coffee, about 6 weeks for alcohol. Neither one tasted like they had pre-surgery. You have to remember that since you have had the sleeve surgery, there is only so much room in your stomach for any sort of fluid. Don't forgo your food intake in the morning or evenings to accommodate for caffeine or alcohol, it is not worth it.

I meant before surgery NOT after. I heard alcohol should be 6 mo. to a year after.

Before surgery?? Two days before surgery was the last time I had caffeine or alcohol. Nicotine...mandatory 2 weeks before surgery and nothing since then!

I gave up my 6 pack plus daily habit of diet pepsi 2 1/2 months ago. I just kicked the coffee habit 5 days ago. I finally don't have a headache. The first day off of caffeine I was sure my eyes were bleeding! Oh my gosh-the headache in my eyes was horrible! Now I am ready to be a loser!!!
