So in addition to the blood clot in my liver I had a leak, I had surgery yesterday to put a stint in & I feel much better today. They moving me to regular hospital room today. Now all I have worry about is if what leaked out before they put the stint in is going to turn into an abscess of infection. If so they will need to do surgery to remove the abscess and put a drain in. The problem is, I'm on blood thinners for the blood clot. So I'll have to give myself heparin injections in my tummy, because if I need surgery, heparin wears off a lot quicker, allowing surgery. The good news is, I've had just about every complication you can have, so I think I'll be OK now. Prayers would be appreciated, and I'll keep you posted. I hope everyone out there with an upcoming surgery has everything go well and they have no complications...

I don't want to discourage anyone from surgery. I think the end out come will be worth it, just going through hell to get there. I think you will be fine & I will definitely be praying for you. Just sharing info, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, but I do feel it necessary to share any and all experiences...

leak tests done right after surgery have shown to be ineffective at catching leaks. the stomach is swollen and leaks are masked.
