My name is Lindsey, I live in the UK and Hubby and I are having our gastric sleeve operations in two days time 19/01/17. I am very nervous but very much inspired by some of the stories I have read, of other people who are on the same journey

Hi and welcome Lindsey! It is wonderful to see you and your hubby will be having surgery together. It does make it so much easier to have someone to go through this with. Reach out if you have any questions or need any support! I will be 11 weeks post op on Thursday and this is the best decision I could have made for my health. I would have never been able to get where I am now without surgery. Good luck and I hope you have a speedy recovery. Congrats to you both!

Recovery is going great. I had my 1 week follow up and all is well. Everything was a million times easier than I expected. My best advice is as soon as they allow you in the hospital get up and walk!

Hi Everyone....thank you for the kind messages. We are now 6 days post op and just starting to feel human again with a very long journey ahead. I have now lost 6.5Kg just over a stone, hubby has lost 7.8Kg. We are tolerating the fluid diet well and don't feel hungry at all. Good luck to everyone who has had the operation or is thinking of having the gastric sleeve. We don't regret having the procedure and look forward to a healthier life.
