    Question Three Weeks Post-Op

I'm three weeks out Post-Op. I saw my surgeon Wednesday and had lost 13 pounds at that time. I feel like I'm already stalling on the loss. I have lost 2 more pounds but I'm stuck there. Is it normal to get stuck so early? I've been walking and following the recommended diet.

    Any advice?

    Sharon

You sound like you're doing great! Everyone on here says there's a 3 week stall. Keep up the good work and your body will catch up!

We all stall - it's very aggravating but stick to it and the scale will move, promise!

Totally normal, happens to almost all of us. Makes no sense because you are barely eating, but it happens. Toss your scale for a while! Seriously. Or have a family member hide it. Just keep doing what you are doing and you'll be fine.

How long is this three week stall. How long does it usually last? I am ok knowing that it is coming but now that I have heard about it, I wonder about its duration.

Take a look at my monthly weight losses in my signature block below.

Yup. Not very speedy, was I?

But I lost 100 pounds. And I've kept it all off! That's all that matters.

BTW, my weight loss speed is very typical for people who had surgery at my starting weight. That's what actually is NORMAL.

    You're doing fine.

The dreaded stall that makes you wonder if you are doing something wrong. I would guess that all of us have been there at some point during our journey and most of us around the 3 or 4 week mark. Some people stall for a few weeks. There is no magic number. But the one thing they all have in common? They all start moving again. Just don't let it frustrate you. Stress can do a number on your body. You will get through this. Good luck!
