Default New !! And Nervous !!

Hello everyone I am new here !! I am so nervous and have what feels like little supportive people in my corner . They arent saying not to do it or cruel just seems like they don't get it ??? And I have no one to talk to about it - I'm excited and ready nervous to fail or have complications!
I have gone thru six months required medical visits have lost 11 lbs is all but had a medical set back tore my Achilles' tendon and had surgery six weeks ago - not able to do much if you can't even walk !! But still on track ! Praying all goes well and I have my date soon for end of February!
I hope I find some answers support and inspiration here !!

Welcome Katie! I also went through my insurance and went through all the requirements to get approved for my surgery. Once it was approved I was scheduled for surgery 9 days later. Could've done it a week later but I had to give my work a little heads up. It was such an exciting time. Sorry to hear about your injury. I know you will still lose weight without the exercise but once you are able to move you will need to start adding some exercise. Or rather you should add exercise. Can you not walk at all? I ask because after surgery walking is crucial to getting all the excess CO2 out of your chest from the surgery. My surgery was smooth and the recovery was pretty easy. The hardest part is adjusting to a new tummy that can only hold tiny amounts of food. So if you overeat you will definitely feel discomfort and nausea and some people will actually vomit. Luckily I have just had nausea and discomfort from overeating. But I have learned from it and only did it a few times. I have a good vitamin regiment because we are not able to get in all the nutrients we need. But it definitely works. I am 9.5 weeks out and hit my 30 lbs lost post surgery milestone. It is amazing!! There is so much information and experiences on here. Just ask any questions you have!

Depending on where you are, find a support group local to you. This helps more than you can imagine and start going now before surgery-you are not alone. Also, I listened to Podcasts before surgery-they explained so much of what is/was going to happen pre and post surgery. Reeger Cortell was the best and still current podcaster. She explains so many things in her podcasts from a providers point of view and her guests range from patients to doctors to give their advise on WLS.
