Verizon in mexico

anyone know off hand how our cell phones will work in mexico?
We have verizon. I know our drs office has tablets,Skype for us to use - but would like to know our phones will work there.

They will work fine, but check with your plan. If it doesn't include international calling, you will be charged $$$$$$$ the second you cross the border.....Both with voice calls and texts. I have AT&T and they offered a free international calling plan for the time I was there. If getting an international plan is too much if an issue with Verizon you can always just use local wifi to skype and email with the folks back home. If you do that, Make sure you put your phone on airplane mode or you will be charged for incoming text messages whether you reply to them or not.
