I have not been on this site in sometime. I reached my weight goal and my doctor's goal which was 5 pounds more than mines. However, in 2016 I had some overwhelming stress, and it has made it difficult for me to maintain. This morning I weighed myself and I am pounds over my weight goal. I know I need to Increase my exercise, but due some Worker comp injuries I am
physically limited. I will be seeing my doctor soon and I will get some suggestions. I also have an appointment also to see the plastic surgeon for some skin removal. Is there anyone that had their surgery 2013/2014 still visiting the site?

I am still here. I think there are a lot of us from 2013/2014 still here. I have had many ups and downs with my weight loss but when I see the poat here I get re-encouraged. I haven't reached my goal weight yet but I haven't given up either. Stay encouraged. Its a life journey. I haven't posted often but I still visit and get notifications in my email. We are in this journey together.

Surgery dec 2013. Lost 100 pounds and still maintaining at lowest weight. I encountered some severe personal tragedy in early 2015. It would have been easy to pack on the pounds if I'd let myself seek comfort with food and alcohol like I always did in the past.. Instead, I started seeing a therapist, taking an antidepressant and hormone replacement. They have made all the difference in the world. I credit most of my success to what I was able to accomplish in therapy. Not just with my weight, but overall happiness and ability to deal with my emotions and life's stresses in a healthy, constructive manner.

    Hi, healthier86.

I'm still here. Had surgery August 2014. Have lost 100 pounds and kept it off.

Like Kindle, I have benefitted from seeing a therapist. I started seeing him even before surgery. He's been tremendously helpful in helping me stay focused on what is required to remain healthy, in the midst of my own stresses (since my WLS hubby was diagnosed with cancer, my mother died, hubby's dad died, his oldest child died, all our pets have died, we moved twice, I retired, etc.).

Ultimately, to be successful after WLS we have to figure out some new, unharmful ways of dealing with life's ongoing stresses. I hate to hand out goofy platitudes, but if we always do what we always did we will always get what we always got.

I wish you great success. You can turn this around. But you have to figure out why you want to turn it around. And then figure out what YOU are willing to do to make that happen.

You might want to look at a thread I posted earlier today here. It might speak to you in ways that can help.

Don't get discouraged! You can get back on track. Try high protein low carb for a while you should be able to drop some weight without much exercise. I know I'm not three years out but that worked pre surgery I'm sure it will help now.

Hi, I have just rejoined the site. I had my sleeve 7 years ago and yes sadly slipped by Goal Weight once I was placed on new Medication "Olexar". I investigated both plastic surgery and re-sleeving but it did seem more practical to undergo a re-sleeve. After 7 years there was some stretching in my pouch but only on the outer two sides of the pouch, the main wall retained it's sleeve

    Hi,

Im 3years out and ive lost 142 pound....no its not been easy ...especially when i get stuck at a certain weight for months!! But i kept going and it is still coming off but VERY slowly....in the past if i hadnt lost any weight one week id just think whats the point and stuff my face and it was a vicious circle.
Im not at my goal weight ...but not far off and im determind to get there.

I also give myself a 2 pound leeway, for like christmas and birthdays...as soon as i hit that 2 pound over im back to protein and drinking my water..normallyy the 2 pound is gone in a couple off days,
I dont deny myself anything,if i want choclate ill have it,but instead of a whole bar ill just have a cople of squares.
I no its hard as like most off us on here prior to our sleeves, any excuse to comfort eat and we do it....food wAs our best friend.
But you have to let go off that mentality ...i now see food as fuel i make sure i have enough to keep me going.
Here in the uk we do not have the option to see a therepist, plus they will not do the surgery unless you are morbily obese
Im bi-polar so on lots off meds...and yes downtime meant food BAD FOOD now it means lots of my fav fruit and nuts.
Go back to basics...when you see the weight coming back off...it will give you the incentive to carry on
    Good luck...you got this x

October 2013. Losing the weight was EASY, lost all my weight in about 9 months. Maintaining is not. Maybe I'm crabby because I gained 3 pounds over Christmas. Our house of 2 went to a house of 12, and I baked and cooked tons. Also ate a lot. No more crap in this house now that all the kids and grandkids are gone!

Our school decided to do a "Biggest Loser" contest and I signed up to help me get back on track! Or maybe I want to get skinny like Ann2. (I'm at the high end of the desirable BMI, so not skinny.) Yet.

LOL! Thank you. But you're already skinny. Not to mention being healthy!

Here's to you achieving what YOU want to achieve. Whatever that is, you deserve it. And I don't have any doubts you can achieve what you desire. I so envy your ability to run (my knees just don't permit that for me). But I'm happy with my yoga, walking and aquarobics. Very happy.

    We are so damn lucky!

I know I can do it too, but 3 pounds over a 2 week break shows how easy it is to gain. But besides the 2 weeks of entertaining, I wasn't teaching, which is quite a bit of activity everyday. (Not much sitting involved!) So I'm happy to be back on track, lose those 3 pesky pounds and hopefully more.

Three years post op and still maintaining a 90 pound weight loss. I set a goal this year to lose the last ten pounds. Plan on drinking more water, exercising more and snacking less between meals. I had a tummy tuck in March 2015. Best decision ever.

    Hello there,
I join the site in 2013 however, I did not get VSG until Dec 2015 My original goal was 135 however, as I began to loss the weight I looked extremely thin at 150 therefore, I changed my goal to stay between 153-158. I reached my goal had very little fat left but good amount of skin, so I had tummy tuck and breast lift down 3wks ago 12/15/16. Still swollen but coming down very happy with my decisions.

Thanks for your post! I was the same weight as you when I started the process, now at almost one year (in two weeks) I lost 95 pounds (112 from my HW). My weight got stuck since November when I had to take my asthma treatment for one full month. Since November I'm in the longest stall. Medication is really a life saver but for weight loss it's a pain in the neck!
I still want to lose around 30/40 pounds, my surgeon is confident I will be able to lose until 18 months out, I really hope he is right! I think my medication is still in my system and take it's sweet time to clear up.
How long did it take you to lose those 142 pounds? did you have any regain with the medication?
    Take care.
