Default I'm losing hope and I don't know what else to do

I had the procedure done middle of November. I have followed the diet strictly, My portion sizes are tiny. I barely consume 600-800 cals a day. Yet NO MOVEMENT ON THE SCALE!!!!!!!! I've been stuck at the same weight for TWO WEEKS. I'm about to give up. I took a huge gamble on this surgery, hoping it would set my life straight, but I'm not losing weight. I don't know what else I can do. Scale isn't moving and I'm about to give up hope. I lost my fiance a few years ago, put on massive weight, and been trying to get back to normal ever since. I've done all I can, and still it doesn't seem to be enough...I don't know what else to do

Are you loosing inches? Sometimes the scale does not move but the inches come off. I find that it is best to ignore the scale, especially when feeling obsessed with it. Today it will be two years, I have lost 100 lbs, it didn't come off overnight and I have maintained for the last year within 5 lbs and I am ok with that. Focus on protein and water or liquids. Do not count calories. Eat when hungry, in the beginning I ate every few hours, I just couldn't eat much. Today I eat what I want, focusing of protein, most of the time, and drink my liquids each day. I wish you luck, the weight did not come on overnight, it will not come off overnight either. Be patient, your body has gone through a lot. Enjoy the ride!

    Michelle

    Three words: Third week stall.

    Google it.

    It's real.

    Very real.

And then it's over and the scale stops dropping again.

    (You're doing great.)

I had a stall around the 4th week. But I found that when I eat more frequently I lose more. I focus on protein. Also stressing about it doesn't help. Stress does a number on our bodies. Give it time. Follow your nutritionists guidelines. Most of all, relax and avoid the scale.

Don't change anything. Just do what you're supposed to do. This is NOT a problem you need to solve -- except by doing what you're supposed to do.

    Seriously.

Look up the "three week stall." Then stay off the scale...constantly weighing yourself will drive you to the point of insanity.

I would say that 90 percent of sleevers experience a stall at around the third post-op week. This stall could last up to four weeks. Keep doing what you are doing...as long as you are not eating Krispy Kreme donuts and drinking fast food milkshakes, you will lose the weight.

I personally weigh myself once a month. You can take a look at my monthly losses in the signature block below my post to see that I was a very slow loser. However, I attained my goal weight. And, yes...I did stall starting after the second post-op week.

    Good luck to you!

Third week, fifth week, doesn't matter. Most people have a stall while their body figures out what just happened. How much protein are you eating and how much water? As long as you stick with protein goals (mine was at least 80 grams) and water (at least 64 oz, the more the better), you'll be successful.

Don't give up, Strofan. I stalled at three weeks and then again at six weeks. I'm nine weeks postop tomorrow, and this week I dropped seven pounds after being stuck for two and a half weeks. It will work. It can be very frustrating to see the number on the scale stay the same, but it's just a temporary thing. You've got this!

Don't lose hope. I had surgery November 2nd. I had all kinds of issues and I was stuck for 3 weeks. It does work . It will come off. I'm down 50 pounds now. Eat the right foods and work out and you willllll see results. Don't let the scale drive you crazy. I know it did that to me. I felt like a failure. Stalls are very normal. Hope this helps!
I 'm still having problems going to the bathroom regularly. Sometimes I gain weight from retaining water. It happens.

@RehabNurse I had to giggle when you put your height. I feel I need to explain that too. I'm only 4'11" so my start weight was 207 and surgery date weight was 187. I'm down to 163 and still fall into the obese range.

I went through the dreaded stall that lasted for two and half weeks. Not a single ounce lost. Turns out m protein levels were to low. Once I got my protein levels up enough I started losing again. I was hitting around forty or fifty grams of protein when the nutritionist wanted me at 110 g per day. Once I got high enough the weight melted off again. Once you get on soft foods it will become so much easier. with the shakes and protein bars.
