Good luck! You got this! You'll be sleepy afterwards. The first week will be rough but it gets better and easier every day! Walk as much as you can. Lying around will make you feel worse. Sip constantly. Set a timer on your phone to remind you if you need to because you really won't want much. Drink slowly. If you drink too fast it hurts. And sugar free popsicles were nice for my throat due to the intubation during surgery. Reach out if you need anything!!

Best of luck today. I'm exactly 1 year out (12/14/15) and it was the best decision I ever made.

My words of wisdom is -- don't rush anything, listen to your docs and don't compare your situation with anyone else, every one is different. Enjoy your new life.

FYI, My wife is 48 hours out of surgery, she is doing very well, walking and doing simple stuff, a little sleepy, but I can see the change already. GO FOR IT!! I am right behind you Surgery on the 22nd of December.......
