Question Can we talk about arms for a moment?

Does anyone have guidance on how to minimize saggy skin on the back of my arms? I am pre-op.

Is there anything at all that you have tried and worked? Body wraps? Spanx for upper arms,.. anything?

the skin is quiet unpredictable and I was really concerned about my tummy, but my arms are actually worth. It all depend on how much you need to lose, your age...and your genes. Some people just have a better skin than others. In my case and I have not reached goal yet, my bat wings are really large. I did use body lotion and oil it actually got better lately, it was worth two months ago. So don't get scared post op because when you lose a lot during the first months it could be saggy really fast, but then it does bounce back.
My skin was really dry post-op so I did use lots of oils and lotions but from what the plastic surgeon said it doesn't really make a noticeable difference at the end. Well my skin was so dry it was itching so at least that was useful for that.

My bat wings, too have gotten much worse since my sleeve. My daughter in law is a PA for a plastic surgeon and says there isn't any way to change them short of surgery, and then you're left with a scar from your armpit down close to your elbow, so that's not great either. Sorry, not much great news there.

I am starting to notice the arm skin sag myself. I am only 5 months out. Now that my tummy has the sleeve.....my arms will also remain sleeved! No sleeveless tops for me. I have been lifting some weights at the gym but don't really think its helping that area.

We'd have to grow some pretty big muscles to fill the space where all the fat used to be....can you imagine?!? Lol

I was weight lifting before surgery so my bat wings aren't too bad, and they actually almost disappear when I flex. I recommend getting into a strength training/weight lifting regiment now and also second what others have said about keeping your skin moisturized. I use vitamin e lotion and Cerave and it works well.

According to my surgeon's office, your skin will take about two years to snap back as much as it can, so you won't truly know how much saggy skin you'll have for a couple of years.

    That's good to hear.
I'm weight training now but don't think it makes a difference. I think I will continue just to keep my muscles in good shape.
