    Default Hi!

I'm Lisa......from Western KY. I had my sleeve done on Halloween. It's been a journey to say the least. Each day is a new day and it does gets easier, but I sure didn't realize how such a large part of my life revolved around food. I literally mourned it for a few days. Since starting my prep I've lost a total of 42 pounds, I feel so much better, but I'm having a hard time getting in my daily fluids. Anyone else have that issue?

    Hi Lisa,
Drinking is an issue for many of us at the beginning. I had several phases with dehydration at the beginning. My sleeve was really swollen (because of the vomiting post-op -non stop for three days because of the anesthesia) and I couldn't drink plain water for weeks. It had to be mixed with juice. Then it got better but I could only drink iced water. What I did was drinking every temperature possible to try to find my best friend, most of the time it would be warm for broth and iced cold for everything else. Little sips all day is the key.
During the first months I was also having lots of soup, it does help with fluids as well, made my own Popsicle with herbal tea etc...
    It will get better!
    Take care!

I struggle with the fluids too, but one thing that helps keep me trying is I find I have much better weight loss when I drink, drink, drink. Congrats on your total of 42 pounds! I had my sleeve on Oct. 24 and have only lost 20 or so. I feel good though and have just started really going to the gym, so I hope it speeds up a little!

Keeping a measured water bottle next to me helps me. I try to remember to take a sip at least every 10 minutes. Also, it reminds me how little (or how much) I've had to drink. Still not sure I am getting in enough H2O and totally understand where you are coming from! Congrats on your loss!
