Default Discipline, Dedication & Determination for long term success!!!

5 years ago i made my first payment to my gastric dr. And never looked back!!! This year I was able to get a mommy makeover and rid myself of that horrid skin!!! I couldn't be more happy with the results!! I have been working so so hard towards this goal and now that i have been there it takes even more dedication to maintain.
I have been noticing that lots of people just a few years out start to regain weight and I feel that the dedication and discipline have gone from their mind set. I feel that these three acts will help you with (or maybe just me) long term success!!! #1 is Discipline this is hands down the most important thing with weight loss and being successful. My next favorite is Determination because your body will stall and become placid and that's a bad place to be for sure. This is where you step it into high gear and train like an athlete, push your body to a place it's never been and be determined to lose the rest and make that goal. Lastly dedication comes when you reach that goal and you form habit, that is dedication, discipline and determination rolled into one!!! still after this many years I go to a weIght loss support group locally because I never want to forget where I came from. I never want to forget how sad, scared and helpless I felt. If you alway remember where you came from you'll appreciate the journey more and never want to go back. I have to say to all you new folks YOU GOT THIS and never let that mind set go. Congrats to you all and enjoy every step of this journey. #almost5yrs

    You look AMAZING!

Thanks for your inspirational post! Support groups are definitely the key. It's important to share your experience, strength and hope. It's a chance to see where you've been, give back and keep the circle going.

We need MORE veterans to post these kinds of messages regularly. It's a motivator to all, no matter where you are in your journey.

Dedication, Discipline, Determination...DDD is going into my vocabulary!

My three things that got me to my goal and 2 years into maintenance are:
    1. Positive Attitude throughout the whole process.
    2. Activity - No way could I have done this without getting off my butt and exercising.
    3. Family Support - best husband on the planet!

Thanks for sharing your strategy, and I also agree that the "3 D's" that you shared are instrumental in my journey. Also for me "accountability" first to myself and then to the others I try to motivate and inspire along their own personal journey. Working in the bariatric surgery department helps me to reflect on what I have to do to remain true to my program, otherwise; I'd be a hypocrite preaching the positive word about bariatric surgery. I don't care for hypocrites so why be one...

Continued success, and you look wonderful!!
