    Default Tummy tuck question

My tummy tuck and thigh lift is only 20 days away and each passing day brings me to more anxiety about this decision. I keep reading about other people's experience and the pain/swelling they experienced. I'm not a wimpy person at all and I would say I tolerate pain pretty well. I had a breast reduction in 2001 and was back at work in 2 days, so yeah I'm pretty much a bad ass

Any who, instead of focusing on what scares me about these procedures; can someone who has had a tummy tuck tell me how many inches you lost and the before and after in pant sizes? I know it will be different for everyone, but right now I'm in a 6 or 8 depending on style and brand, but my ultimate goal was to be in a size 4. Pass along any words of wisdom too. TIA!

I WAS LIKE YOU I HAD A BREAST REDUCTION IN 2003 AND WAS BACK TO WORK A FEW DAYS AFTER. i HAD TO PULL MYSELF UP INSIDE A FORK TRUCK. I DID HAVE SOME PAIN WITH IT BUT I COULD TOLERATE IT. I HAD A TUMMY TUCK IN 2014 AND IM SORRY BUT THAT WAS THE WORSE PAIN I HAVE EVER HAD IN A SURGERY. I HAD TO LAY IN BED FOR 8 HOURS UNTIL MY HUSBAND CAME HOME FROM WORK BECAUSE I COULD NOT PHYSICALLY GET UP. IT TOOK ABOUT 2 WEEKS BEFORE I COULD DO ANYTHING FOR MYSELF. DONT RUSH IT

Oh GAWD! My surgery is on November 16th and I'm taking off through Thanksgiving holiday. I am hoping to be back at work on November 28th. Crap, I hope that is enough time to be able to function at work. Luckily, I have a desk job, but I have to walk from the parking lot and what not. My hubs is lucky enough to take time off from work during this time to help me; otherwise, I would be screwed I believe.

I had a panniculectomy/abdominoplasty with muscle tightening, then six weeks later a breast lift and arm lift. Off the chart the arms/breast surgery was more pain for me. I was walking on the treadmill 3 days after the first surgery. I exercised every day before surgery which I think contributed to as easier recovery. I had four drains with the first surgery and they didn't hurt, just annoying

As for clothes, my pant size is similar, 12/14, which could be because I just tucked the extra skin into my pants

PM me if you have any questions. Best of luck to you on the upcoming surgery

Hi everyone. It's so nice to read this thread. From the hips down im about a 12 my waist line is like a 7/8. when I was still swelling I had to have my pants taken in 4 inches in the waist. My only concern is the scar but it seems to be healing quite well. My surgeon Dr Rino Lorenzo, is very good, and highly recommended. I also recommend to my friends to try this surgery if they have the same tummy trouble I had.

I'm doing pretty well. I get tired quickly, but yes I am going back to work on Monday. I didn't realize how swollen I would be. My stomach feels extremely tight and I can't stand up straight. The compression garment I have to wear sucks and is so freaking tight I hate it. Ok enough whining. I'm glad I did this and just waiting to see the final results once the swelling is gone. Thanks for thinking of me.

I'm thinking I'll definitely need a thigh lift. I had big thighs. Not sure about my tummy yet. Only time will tell once I get to my goal weight. Did you have your tummy tuck/thigh lift here in the US? Was it very expensive?

Hi! Yes, I had it done in metro Atlanta. My PS billed everything in one lump sum, which included both procedures, anesthesiologist fees, hospital fees, one night hospital stay and compression garment for 16,700. I wasn't sure if I would do TT/thigh lift first or arm lift so his price on arm lift was like 7,400 or something close to that. That price was as out patient only. Totally worth every damn penny

I'm still experiencing swelling from the thigh lift. It was by far the most painful of the two procedures. The sucky thing is I can't even see the results yet and keep wondering if he even removed any skin from the thighs. The TT on the other hand, I could tell right away and people at work tell me my waist is so tiny. BONUS!

Thank you for the info. I'm a long way from getting there but definitely want to start informing myself. And I am pretty sure the thighs are going to be my biggest problem. When did they say you'd be able to see the results from the thigh lift?

My PS hasn't really said. I go back for 6 week check up next Wednesday (28th) and I am asking him then when will I notice changes and ask him if I still have fluid and swelling. I will be really disappointed if this is the best they are going to look.

I have read tons of stuff from other people that the swelling can last up to 6 months! For someone who is not a patient person, this is agonizing for me, because just like the girl in Willy Wonka - I WANT it NOW!
