Waiting game is the worst!!!!!

I started my journey late June, I went through all the necessary test required by my doctor and of course something would slow me down. By the end of July I had completed everything, thinking I would be scheduled for surgery in August. I had even had my fees given to me, (what I had to pay the doctor and the hospital) Well Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia had other plans. I have to complete a total of 6 months nutritional consults needless to say I will have my 3rd consult tommorrow. My doctor said these insurance companies throws this mess in hoping patients will change their mind. NOT ME, this is the closest I have ever been and there is no stopping me now. But I must admit that I have fallen off the wagon and went back to my old eating habits, they never went away, but I was more conscious about what I ate when I knew surgery was close. I am trying to get back on track with the protein shakes etc...

Surgery is STILL close.

I used the wait time to practice healthy post-op behaviors. Surgery date will be here before you know it!

My Fitness Pal app was invaluable in keeping me on the right track, and still is.

i had to do the 6 month appointments also. I started in april and finally have a November 8th surgery date pending they do not move it again

Same here next month I have my 3rd nutrition class, is hard for me because every time I go I gain a pound. Am bad on the weekend during the week I don't have a problem smh But good luck you got this.

Be thrilled you have insurance. I did not, all out of pocket. It was like buying a car (but much more fun!)

I was 9 months start to finish. I started losing it for a while too about half way when my insurance gave my some crap. Stay Strong!

This is why the Mexico option is so appealing to some people... My insurance has a bariatric exclusion... so all the money I pay to b covered... is really for nothing... I cannot even use it for what I want!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Fortunately, I don't really need it for anything else..except the law says I have to have it....but What Ev... thats fine.... My Mexico trip will cost a little more than my deductible... and no waiting... once I decided to do it, and got the money together, has been less than 3 months.... my surgery is on October 10th...

You are right, I can complain about my insurance, but most of my cost will be paid by them. I agree this surgery will be much more fun than buying a car.

I wish it was meeeeeeee, if I had the money saved I would definitely go to Mexico. Good luck, keep us up to date on your progress.
