Day 3 postOp... HORRIBLE headache!

Hey everyone!!

As I said in my blog I really can't complain about my recovery! I've had a pretty easy time! Just today though, I've started getting this HORRIBLE headache whenever I lay down but only in on spot on my head!! What gives?! Does anyone have any insight to this?

I only got headaches due to tension because of the way I had to sit. It would make my back and shoulders hurt so bad and tense up that would cause me to have a migraine. You also may not be getting enough water. Make sure you are drinking your water or eating your sugar free popsicles. I am sure it will pass in a few days, otherwise you may want to ask your doctor.

We can take tylenol. Or for me a little caffeine helps with a headache. Feel better!

Yes! My dietitian gave me a recipe for a ice coffee with protein powder and I made that this morning. So far so good! I'll probably go out today and buy some Tylenol. Just so I have it around the house. Thank you!!

Sure!!

1 packet or 1 scoop unflavored protein powder (I use my vanilla protein powder for flavor )
1 cup brewed coffee regular or decaf
1/2 cup of ice

I put it all into a blender but you can also prepare the coffee and allow it to cool!
(Protein: 21 grams; 93% calories from protein)(of course varies by which type of protein powder you use)

I also have been having bad headaches...then I checked the medication I was discharged from the hospital (Omeprazole) which is a substitute for Prilosec...one of the side effects is headache. I have tried a few things, Tylenol, essential oils, but nothing gives. Hope you find some relief. I will speak with my doctor about the headaches on my follow up Tuesday.

I'm going to bring it up on my check up on Monday as well. I was sent home on Percocet so that might have something to do with it. But I really haven't been taking them. I'm hoping maybe as mysterious as it appeared it will go away! Good luck to you! Please keep my informed of what you find out!
