Third time feeling dumping effect from just water

It happened again tonight as I was getting ready for bed.

I took a capsule of the magnesium citrate supplement with a cup or more of water. Then, the capsule, which I have not had any issue swallowing before felt stuck, and the nausea, sweats, anxiety that I could not catch my breath came on!!! I was over the kitchen sink spitting the foamy stuff coming up from my throat. I was okay after 10 or fifteen maybe less.

I am going to have to get to a medical doctor soon!

You have to be thinking WTF is this? You are too far out from surgery for it to be swelling and restriction in your sleeve. I wouldn't know where to begin. Yes, see your Doc! I hope this improves for you.

This is weird! We are told chewables even if we tested limits to try capsules or tablets until 6 months. Maybe switch to chewable?

Is downing it with a cup of water the usual for you as well? Is it the same brand?

Is it the water? Are you using tap (since you just moved)? It may be more or less alkaline and your body is adjusting or it may be fluoridated or or or

Just brainstorming with you. Hope you get this figured out!

I take the same drug in powder form.

It says on the jar.. I must put 1/2 teaspoon it in at least 6 oz of water or juice. Take once daily with a meal.
Pure Magnesium Citrate Powder can increase the temperature of liquids upon contact; therefore, the recommended serving MUST be mixed
into at least 6 oz. of liquid to neutralize prior to ingestion.

I do not take it with food

Yes, see a doctor asap is the best option. But I do remember that around month 4/5 I had some issues taking my vitamins. I was taking it first thing in the morning for months with no issues, but as soon as my PPI's dosage became lower, it actually made me sick and I had to have food first before the vitamins...Good luck! keep us posted!

Thank you everyone! yes I am like WTF!!! and I have gone over in my head what I may have done. Nothing makes sense!

Things I may have done wrong... I think I may have gauged the time wrong. I snacked on Beef Jerky 2oz what I thought was an hour before, maybe it was shorter time, than I thought! Maybe I didn't chew properly!!?! I was watching tv and I was on auto-mode. Could it be I didn't wait long enough? so is the "no water" rule true for me from here on??? the other thing I may have done wrong, is that the pharmacist recommended I take the magnesium with citrus juice, I have been taking it for a few days and I was juicing an orange or eating half an orange and water with the capsule. Last night it was straight water.

I found an urgent care walk in not too far from here, it is going to cost me ugh!

Now I remember why I hate Texas!!! I did not qualify for state health aid (medicaid) and since they are not on the market exchange, premiums for a decent coverage are going to be $450 and upwards! Even if I get it now, I won't be covered until Oct. 1st. F'krs!!! (now I am just venting... sorry!)

I had breakfast this morning with no problem. Though I have not had but a cup of water when I woke up. About 45 min later I had a cup of MuscleEgg Protein drink. then later about hour for sure, I made breakfast. I had half of one multigrain english muffin, one fried egg, 1.5 oz of canadian bacon (two slices). I just made myself one cup of warm milk and added a teaspoon of instant coffee. So far so good.

You are right! I was told no pills and or capsules for six months as well. I did well about a month or so ago, so other than my probiotics and these supplements I am still doing chewable vitamins.

Tap water here is gross! it is mostly Arrowhead or Ozorka Spring water, but I do use Brita pitcher for tap water, so you maybe you are up to something and I should watch out.

You are right! I took it yesterday with straight water, and pharm said take with citrus juice.

I going to keep an eye out for that. So far, chewable vitamins are not giving much problems other than I still hate the taste lol!

You know you can get mag citrate in liquid, right? I took it the night before my surgery to clear everything out. Keep it in the frig to keep it cold.

Also, dumping syndrome us when stuff moves from your stomach thru your intestines and you have severe urgent diarrhea. Urping up foam or slime isn't dumping.

I think the actual gastric incision is healed in about 6 weeks, give or take. It's an incision just like any other, so should heal just as any other incision would heal.

I'm thinking it was because you had eaten that jerky. It was prob still hanging around in you tiny tummy being digested and didn't want company.

And start buying your mag citrate in the glass bottles. It's easier to swallow than a capsule and I guess it would count towards your daily fluids, too!
