Post Gastric Sleeve Restriction... How does it feel?

I keep trying to explain to my partner how it feels when I reach that restriction point and I just cannot have another bite to no avail.

I have been getting better about measuring just the right amount of food so it doesn't feel like I hit a wall going at 100 mph, some days my tummy just reacts differently.

Today, while we were getting ready early in the a.m. I was waiting for water to warm up, I stepped into the shower to start my routine, the lukewarm warm just didn't seem to warm up, then from one second to the other it got scorching ( or is it scalding? ) HOT!!! That made me jump off for safety. lol!

That's what the restriction feels like to me. Lol!

If you have other analogies I would love to hear them.

I remember Dolly Parton saying "it's like putting 10 pounds of potatoes in a 5 pound sack" So give him a flimsy bag and have him add potatoes until one breaks through the bottom and the others follow

I havent had surgery yet but i am having a hard time explaining the portions and weights to my husband. He doesnt believe me.

Exactly! It just sneaks up on you! Everything's going just fine, then, BAM! you feel like puking! Lol

Btw, about how much can you eat, Shirl? I seem to do best with a 1/2 cup of something like chili. Chicken and fish is better at 2-3 ozs. Soup I can do a whole cup of if it's mostly liquid, like tomato or stock. I can eat 3 triscuits with one ounce of cheese.

Just curious.

Oh, and yesterday, I ate an egg, a 1/4 of an avocado and tried my first post op tortilla....bleh. I had to run to the RR to get rid of some of that! Sometimes I feel like an anorexic or binge/purger!

I find it can't really be explained... you just have to experience it.
