    Default Help! Crazy itchy!!!

So my incisions have itched off and on since they started healing. I also have a spot on my stomach in between the incisions since surgery that's been numb. But now all of a sudden there's a spot that seems to be on the numb area that itches something fierce. It came on suddenly and no where I scratch will satisfy it. I've tried icing the area and putting goldbond anti-itch cream around the incisions but nothing helps! I'm going crazyyy! Someone help!!

I feel that 11 days out your incisions should not be itching. My were completely healed by end of week one and by ten for sure.

Have you contacted your surgeon? you may be having some type of allergic reaction.

Mine are still healing - they look like they are only half way there - is that bad?? One incision is in between one of my rolls (tmi sorry!) and doesn't seem to be healing much at all. I wonder if I should be worried about that.

I have my 2 week follow-up on Monday so I'll definitely be bringing it up.

I may try to take some benedryl and see if that works.

Incisions tend to itch while healing. But, it could also be some side effects from anesthesia. Try some Benadryl if you can take it. There's nothing more annoying than an itch you can't scratch or that won't go away.

Ugh! That must be driving you mad. I'm less than 2 weeks out from surgery so I cannot say if I have experienced this or not, but yes, I would try Benadryl.

I didn't get my incisions wet for 48hrs, and then when I was instructed to clean and able to shower I used Hibiclens, it's an antiseptic cleansing liquid soap. Good stuff. Once my incision were healed I started using Mederma. The one incision that took the longest to heal was the one in my belly button, it was also the largest (1/4" maybe?).

Right there with you! My incisions look great, had stiches out yesterday. The itch is getting annoying! Doc said it is just part of the healing process, for me.

I am instructed to use hibiclens the evening before and morning of my surgery. I got some but had never heard of it before. Maybe I will use it afterwards too.
