Hi! Newbie from Ohio

Hi all!

I have been researching the Sleeve for a few months and recently decided it's something I want/need to do. I haven't contacted the surgeon yet - waiting to hear from my primary doc first. I want to do this right to avoid potential insurance problems later, so I sent him a message to ask for his support/referral and any input he has for me. The surgeon I'd use is in the same health system, so my doc knows him and might have advice for me in going forward.

I've learned so much from this forum and I'm so glad I found this site!!

The surgeon I've chosen is Dr.Kerlakian in Cincinnati. Have you met many Cincinnati sleevers here?

I think getting a referral from your doctor is a smart way to go; there are a lot of bariatric surgeons who require a referral before they will begin seeing you, though not all do. Mine did, and I ended up getting a referral from a doctor in my Urgent Care because I had recently moved and my new primary doctor had no new patient appointments for a few months.

I have not. I've not shared my surgery with anyone except my husband and my boss. Good luck with everything!

I ditto Sarcastic_Bard. It's a smart way to go. I was self-pay so I did my own research and investigation.
