    Default Hello

My date is June 27 for the sleeve. I'm just curious about other people experiences. Any advice to what you wish you would have known before surgery?

    Hello Nasmith.

Not long before your surgery date. Hopefully you are mentally prepared to take this journey which should greatly improve your life. I do not think my doctor or the nurses mentioned the term major surgery before the procedure. But it is. I'd be prepared to be a least a bit more tired than usual for the first 2-3 weeks postop. Depending on your circumstances, the expected benefits that you could derive should be your motivation to follow your doctor's instructions to the letter. Good luck to you.

Thank you . Some people say they are tired for the first week but that's from the gas pains wearing them out. I had major surgery twice in my life both in my stomach area and I don't remember it being pleasant. I'm looking forward to the new lifestyle so that's keeping going

    Welcome!

I was fortunate to have some guidance pre-op, that prepared me for post-op, to a point.

Everyone is different. Some jump right from surgery to back to work. Some take longer. Your Dr and what your body is telling you are your best sources of information/instruction.

This is hands down the best decision I ever made for me and my health.

Best of luck as you embark on your journey!
