Default Sleeving Wed., June 22, 2016... nervous but ready

    Greetings all!

Today is Sunday (June 19), and I am getting my sleeve on Wednesday (June 22). It's almost here! I'm SO nervous, and occasionally have panic moments where I think, "Don't do this! Call the doctor and cancel!!" But then I remember that the decision to get the sleeve is something I have been working on with a team of professionals for months, and that it has been carefully evaluated by people who really know what they are doing. That helps.

Even so, I have never had any kind of surgery before, never had general anesthesia, never stayed overnight in a hospital, and as such there are just a lot of unfamiliar elements that are adding to my anxiety. To all of you veteran sleevers who have posted your stories, helpful tips, words of wisdom, etc., THANK YOU! Reading your stories and knowing you lived through it (literally) helps me to calm my nerves.

I'm off to the store now to stock up on water, crystal light, gatorade, sf jello and popsicles, etc... gotta be ready!!

Is anyone else out there getting sleeved this week?

    Cheers!
    PleaseSleeveMe

Happy Sleeve to you!! . You'll be fine. We've all had the same jitters and thoughts.

A suggestion is to speak with the doctor/anesthesiologist. Since you've never had surgery an extra patch may help with feeling nauseous when anesthesia wears off.

    Congratulations!

It's normal to feel anxious/nervous/scared. This is a life changing decision!

    Thanks!!

IMPORTANT JELLO QUESTION: I am getting sleeved tomorrow (I can't believe it!!) and have been making pre-op Jello. I read on one of these forums that some people add protein powder to their Jello. I tried doing this and it came out pretty lumpy and yucky. Does anyone have any tips on how to make Jello with protein powder turn out OK? I think it's a great idea but I'm hoping I can improve my execution of it!

    Sleeving soon,
