When can start lifting wts again after surgery?

My surgeon said I'd be good to go after 28 days. I started some light hand weights after 3 weeks with no ill effects. Like everything else on this site, I will be shocked if this does not vary from doctor to doctor.

You need to ask your surgeon. Every case is different and they will give you postop instruction about excercise and lifting restrictions.

Mine was nothing over 20 pounds for three weeks, and I was back to lifting my usual 40-60 pounds at work after that. But from what I've read mine was a pretty generous restriction.

Mine was nothing over 20 pounds for six weeks. At four months I have been cleared for walking and aquatic but nothing more.
