Lightbulb I'm doing the Pouch Reset after a hefty regain...

Hi fellow sleevers!! So, I got my Sleeve in Oct of 2013... well I did great and then life took me for a loop! Long story short, I seen my surgeon this January for my 2 year check up and I had gained...... 30lbs in 2015 alone!! Holy heavens! And I knew what was happening, I just didn't stop myself. Well now I am on day 5 of a Pouch Reset. Basically I am doing the Liquid Diet all over again! And we all know that was not easy. I am doing this in hopes of not needing a evision surgury which the Dr. mentioned. And I can truly say that I acually feel my stomach shrinking back down to size!! It is weird! Again I am on day 5 out of 10... and I have lost 10 pounds so far!!!!! I am feeling better today because I have been feeling weak during the first 4 days, now to add some exercise and I should really drop some of this extra weight! So, above all my dear WLS People..... DON'T OPEN THE DOOR TO YOUR TRIGGER FOODS!!! It is a slippery slope and sad when u see all your hard work go right down the drain! I hope that many have the chance to read this because we think the beginning stages are the worst... well almost 3 years later and 30+ pounds I can truly say the MAINTENANCE is the hardest part!! Change your habits now and stick to your guns!! You don't want to be on this side of the post... believe me!!
    Stay Happy,
    Stay Healthy,
    Stay Blessed!
    Lauren D.

    MY JOURNEY
    STARTED: 4/24/13- 268lbs.
    LOWEST WEIGHT: 6/25/14- 168lbs.
    GAINED 50 from 2014-2016
    STARTED AGAIN: 214- 9/27/16.
    GOAL: 175- TBA

Congrats to you for taking control and being a warrior. I also appreciate the advice. It is so easy to get hung up on our old habits and routines.

When I asked the question, "What do I need to change?" I was told, "Everything!"
And I get it, one day at a time. I'm fortunate to have 2 family members that are 8+ years out. They are my supports and I speak to them daily. It helps.
It's wonderful that you are grabbing the bull by the horns! And Thank You for sharing your experience.

I did the 5-day pouch test reset in January after developing a habit of grazing on lemon-flavored protein bars that was escalating out of control. The test restored the feeling of restriction to my stomach, broke my grazing habit, gave me back a sense of control, and helped me lose 6 pounds almost effortlessly.

I'm an advocate of the 5-day pouch test for anyone who wants to take back control, break a nasty snacking habit, and jumpstart weight loss once again.

So true, losing was easy, maintaining is much more difficult. I weigh myself every morning to be sure I'm where I should be.

Did your surgeon recommend the pouch reset or test? I've never tried it. My understanding of it is that it was created by a faux journalist trying to be an expert on bariatric matters and WLS. I don't think cottage cheese is going to change the size of our sleeve. My experience of seeing people in this group and others do it is that it's mostly fluid that comes off and can be easily regained. I'd recommend doing something a bit easier, focusing on protein and logging everything. Fad diets haven't really worked for me before or after getting sleeved. Long-term changes did.

Hi - I am wondering how your 10 day reset went and your progress since? I also had surgery October 2013 and have a regain of 45 pounds. I got on a bad habit streak due to a cancer diagnosis and subsequently having 8 surgeries within 18 months. I just started the 10 day yesterday so today is day 2.
