    Red face Update

Hello everyone! I had some rough patches so havent checked in for a few! I am so excited to say I am down 33lbs since my surgery a little over 2 months ago and 41lbs including post opt weight i lost a few weeks before my surgery! I am happy and will honestly say a few times i thought i was failing at my weight loss. I have made a few mistakes but that guilt kicks in and its a learning experience to not let it happen again. ITS HARD SOMETIMES lol HOWEVER this is a commitment to myself that i have to keep! I am now able to take in solid foods and that makes life harder so if anyone has suggestions on how to plan out a meal. My goal is to do all meal preps on sunday and then my hubby got me a fit bit to log everything and exersize! I tired to use fitness pal and it yelled at me i wasnt eating enough well duh I cant eat what you would like lol. I read in another post that i should be targeting 1000 calories a day? This is correct? OK IM DONE RAMBLING LOL Sorry for typos i typed this so quick before my shift starts. lol

Her is what I like to have on hand at all times. Several cans of chicken breast, and boiled eggs. I can whip up a chicken salad ahead of time and have it for lunch several days. I do the same thing with imitation crab. I always have string mozzarella cheese and Greek yogurt handy for emergency hunger so I don't grab the wrong thing. Mini meatballs with a bit of sauce are good too. It is better to make your own and freeze them, because the frozen ones aren't as high in protein. Wendy's chili is a good option according to my dietician. I often get a bowl and it lasts me several meals. If you like shrimp, keep a bag of frozen shrimp on hand. If you forget to thaw them out, they thaw quickly under some running water. I hope this helps. I'm not sure what you can tolerate at this point.

Ramble away!! It's good to hear it!

In the beginning, I did indeed get Wendy's chili. I was my "hey let's be out and get food" food. As I've progressed, don't seem to gravitate towards it any more. Not sure if it's good or bad because I do have mild/not so mild food aversion at times.

    Keep the good vibes going!!

I love my fitness pal and you can adjust the settings in goals and you can sync your Fitbit with it! it's definitely going to say that you're under calories for a while, but if you go under nutrition, it breaks down all your nutrients so you can make sure you're getting all of your protein.
Belle22 gave great suggestions for on hand foods....
also www.worldaccordingtoeggface.com is a blog written by a woman that had gastric bypass and she gives great food suggestions...I havent even had the surgery yet and I make some of her recipes.
    Good luck!

I changed my caloric intake on My Fitness Pal - 700 calories. It's still didn't like me but it helps me keep track of what I'm taking in. Good job on the weight loss. My surgery was a month ago on December 14th. I've been kind of bummed out because I lost 30 pounds since December 1st 15 of those pounds have been since my surgery 4 weeks ago and it just doesn't seem like that was very much. But then I tell myself losing 15 pounds in a month is pretty good. I'm still eating a lot of mashed potatoes and pureed foods nothing else was staying in me. Tonight I'm going to a restaurant with friends should be interesting to see what I can eat at a Mexican restaurant. I don't like refried beans but that might be my menu choice. Anyway, good luck to you and it's nice to see that other people feel the same way.

In my fitness pal, if you entered less than 1000 calories for the day and click the "complete entry" button, you won't get your projected weight five weeks from now. Everything else still shows in MFP. If you don't want to see the error message, you can do a "quick add" for the number of calories you need to get to 1000. Once you complete the entry for the day, go back and delete the "quick add" calories

The quick add is on the right at the bottom of the different meals (breakfast, lunch etc). Click "more" then you'll see "quick add"

My suggestion since you are still a new sleever is to try to focus on an exercise routine with your fitbit. You really can't eat a normal diet just yet so drink your water and get in your protein and vitamins every day. Do some form of exercise every day: walking, riding an exercise bike, whatever you can do at this stage and keep track with the fitbit. Before long you will see great results and you will be able to exercise significantly more in the future. A daily routine ultimately becomes habit forming and makes it much easier to lose weight consistently. You are doing great so far, but assuredly your weight loss pace will slow down as it does for everybody. If you develop a good exercise routine you will be less likely to have prolonged stalls. Continue to try to do the right thing and you will achieve the results you want. Best of luck.
