Hmm I'd better have my fiancé and my son's grandma help out then! I don't want to mess this up that's for sure. My fiancé normally works 6 days a week so he'll just have to work 5 :P
I asked my surgeon the same question (not about lifting your son , but about reading some people recommended I shouldn't lift more than 10-15 pounds the first few weeks post gastric sleeve WLS) , he asked me how much do I weigh? After I told him, he then said you lift that much weight when you stand up.
He recommended I did not do any lifting like trying to lift a refrigerator or heavy weights in a gym, but outside of that, lifting within reason (without straining) is ok. Also, as a good practice, to try to lift with my legs and not my back.
Follow your surgeon's instructions.
Thanks Joe Poppa! I see my surgeon halfway through September so I'll ask them then.
