Questions regarding psych consult

My insurance requires psychological evaluation. Apparently it can be done by phone, I have received link to web site to register and set up an appointment. Has anyone had this done and what can be expected ?

Mine was talking about myself and my growing up and then part was more information about the sleeve what can happen and transferring addictions. Nothing to intense. I have read others have done surveys answering questions s. All seem to be different. It good though I have after follow ups to help keep me on a good path

mine was a bit intense..but that is good, right?
i mean all these parts are helpful to the whole process..it gets you in the zone and ready for the change you will be facing

I did have the psych evaluation. It consisted of an "online" questionnaire. Once that was submitted than I had to schedule an appt for a phone inteview. The questionnaire basically covered questions asking if you have thoughts to kill yourself, are you depressed, do you have a good support system. Why do you want to have this surgery, etc. There was nothing earth shattering. Nothing to fret about. Thank you for all the encouraging words!

Over the phone??! I WISH!!!
I hated my psych. I had to go TWICE and it was not covered by insurance.

Did you use bariatricpsychevaluations.com, by chance?

Mine was in person, just talked to a really nice guy. Nothing intense, more like meeting someone new and just chatting. When I said I like to walk, he told me, no problem, you will lose all your weight. I did. (The surgeon told me I will lose 70% of my weight, but I guess he has to tell everyone the average.)

I had no reason for being fat except myself. My parents fed me totally healthy meals, never had junk in the house. (I remember they could buy a case of different flavors of soda if we were having a party.) I have had no major trauma in my life. I just liked to eat, and the wrong thing, carbs. I guess that's what I told the guy.
