5 months prequalification

Hi, i'm looking forward to having my sleeve surgery. I am 57 years old and have some health issues. I am looking forward to being healthy and playing basketball with my husband again. My insurance requires 6 months of Family phy visits so I should finish up in July.

Ok and you do the same. I go for my last diet visit thursday and I am ashamed to say, I've not lost much, if any, weight. She tells me that is not the goal of the 6 month pre op period so she's not to stressed about it. She says her job is to teach me to eat the right foods and the sleeve will take care of the amount. I can't wait. I am so excited, not to anxious yet, but I'm sure I will be. I am looking so forward to July 29th!!

I have my 5 month appt tomorrow. I have not lost anything i've gain a couple of pounds. I think unconsciously i'm eating things i know i will not be able to. My insurance company policy is 6 months. I have a friend that had his last year, he suffered from high blood pressure, sleep apnea, diabetes, poor circulation and he is only 45. Now he's off all of his meds and does not need the sleep apnea machine. I have the same issues except the circulation. I know this is not a cure all. I've tried every diet, meal plan, skinny pill and self motivation. God only knows that i want to continue to be mobile and enjoy going to theme parks and just eating healthy.

I know, right. I've been thinking the same things too. That's great to hear about your friend. I too have sleep apnea, high BP, and high cholesteral. My surgeon said that should all go away after the surgery... I hope so.
Just like you, I've tried, AND FAILED, at every diet out there and I hope and pray this "'last ditch effort" helps me lose, and keep the weight off, for good. My surgeons group is fabulous in teaching EVERYTHING there is to know about the do's and don't's after the sleeve. I've already bought the protein drinks, started taking my vitamins and cut down on sweet tea. They told me sweet tea is the number one culprit of not being able to lose. I LOVE sweet tea so it's been a challenge for me to almost stop completely. I figure it's all in what you get use to so I've been drinking the tea with Splenda in it. WE CAN DO THIS!!!!

Great to hear. When i get my surgery date i will post before pictures. My goal is 145, i'm 5' 9" so that's the only thing that has help me is my height. My journey started in January and that's when my gastric doctor told me about the 6mos of documentation from my primary phy. You must tell me what the first day after surgery feels like. I am so excited! How does your family feel? My husband is not a fan, he say's i just need discipline but until you walk a mile in someone's shoes you don't know. I also deal with the depression of the weight. So yes i'm ready got get my life back.

Yea! getting excited with you. Have you brought anything for return home. My doctor told me my taste my change so don't buy to much. I love hint water and i have stocked up on it, a bit expensive but i can drink lik 4 bottle a day. I just hope i still like it after surgery.

How are you doing? it's almost that time. I have my 6 month visit on the 20th. I pray my schedule date is not far behind.

Getting kind of antsy, my 6 month was last month and my doctors still has not sent my records to the insurance company. The insurance company let's you check on receipt. It's only been two weeks but i would like to know whether or not i was approved or disapproved and when my inspected surgery date is. I have some planning to do for work. Anyone out there that had the same delima?
