What a Difference Music Makes!

So I've always been a walker, even when I was fat, and since surgery I kept up the walking until I started a running program. I just got my first little Apple Shuffle (yes, I am behind the world in technology), and the difference is amazing! I can run at least twice, sometimes three times what I used to! All because of my amazing collection of Broadway show tunes. (Yes, I'm a Broadway geek.) I can't sing and dance, but I sure can run in the woods to "In the Heights" or "La Vie Boheme" or "The Heat is on in Saigon." Totally fun.

Yes, the tempo of music really helps keep your mind off of the time/distance you're running/walking.

Music is the only way I can keep to a regular exercise routine - otherwise I get bored and start counting seconds/minutes etc. till I'm done. Even watching tv or reading while on a treadmill or stationary bike doesn't do it for me.

Unfortunately, I also like it loud, so I'm trying to find a good compromise on the volume so that I'm not deaf by the time the weight comes off.

Definitely!!! I have a playlists for cardio, strength training, and meditation. The song lists are quite eclectic...gangsta wrap, Christian Rock, country, indie, a little Disney. I won't workout without music. Keep going girl!!!

Absolutely love to have music on when exercising. I have sonos speakers all over the place (check it out they are the greatest) and the time flies when good music is on.
