Maybe they thought the "thanks" button was enough. Your email notifications can get cluttered with the variety of things offered. I'm getting used to not having it and now using the "thanks" button.

That module was causing a lot of problems with the site so it was removed. We are looking at replacing it, but that will take time. In the meantime, please use the Thanks button, it is almost the same thing.
