Yes, look into "Hoodia". It's a type of cactus that suppresses your appetite. People on ebay sell it and they also sell the live plants so you can grow your own hoodia.
I thought Hoodia was a weight loss pill you could buy at the pharmacy. I didn't know that it was an herb for weight loss. Does anyone know how effective it is?
You will not need it the only thing that I crave is fluid I love drinking water now I still eat my food but I am never hungry
With the gastric sleeve you will not need to suppress your appetite. The side of the stomach cut away is the side that secrets the hormones that make us hungry. I have not been hungry for 7 months. What a wonderful feeling that is! You don't eat due to stress either! Wow!!
personally i think in my situation i have / had an addiction to food. i eat when i was tired, lonely, happy, binged when i was sad. so technically we no longer have hunger pain for the first year or so. so i have to remember / remind myself that and am trying to break myself of eating unless it is scheduled. im trying to make eating meals similar to taking vitamin supplements, and break the habit of food being for pleasure.
i have noticed that the few time i do try thing i used to like, they taste bad and i no longer like them. this is a good thing, i quite looking as things as being good tasting after that. the issue is not everything has tasted bad, for instance, potato chip and tortilla chip still taste good. i dont have them in my house so there is no issue there but when im at friend homes they all seem to have a bowl out for guest, it has been one of my biggest issue is snaking while socializing. it is my biggest struggle that im working on right now.
The natural appetite suppressant consist of regular diet foods such as Water, Banana, Green Vegetables, Pickles, Apple, Cinnamon and some herbs such as Hoodia Gordonii, CarallumaFimbriata, GraciniaCombogi, Gurana.
I'm 41 days out from my Sleeve Surgery. I've lost 44 lbs since. However this is the first week I have not lost and in fact I "gain" 2 lbs!! Not happy! The subject of Hunger is "very" real. My appetite has come back! I will eat and a few hours later I'm hungry again. I'm so afraid of going backwards!! I can't understand why this is happening.
I wish it were true for everybody that there is no hunger but I have been hungry from day three. I do recognize I have no cravings, but I do get hungry. I've been tempted to take an appetite suppressant but decided to give it a while longer. I know when I did low carb before the surgery I was not hungry so I don't know what's up now. I'm determined to do this as naturally as possible and make good habits but I totally understand the temptation to take a suppressant. What I do now when I get hungry is eat. Ji just eat protein. Its a little known fact that eating stops hunger!

I find that if I stay off of the carbs my appetite is pretty well controlled - Let in the carbs and every thing blows up. No carbs for me.
Protein IS a good way to satisfy hunger...but I'm not happy hearing that you guys are still hungry after surgery! Are you as hungry as you used to be?
Hoodia DOES work but you have to make sure you get real Hoodia and not fake stuff. I haven't figured out how to do that, I'm hoarding the stuff I bought a long time ago, the company that made it has gone out of business.
I usually keep a protein bar on my desk & cut little slivers off of it when I get that "snacky" feeling. I pound down a few gulps of water on top of that & I am good to go for a few hours. It ups my daily protein intake as well as each bar has 23 grams of protein. Also, I just read this today on another thread but it seems some times we mistake acid for hunger. I haven't had a problem with acid since the sleeve & haven't taken the PPI (protein pump inhibitor). I just started today but I can already it's making a difference. Maybe it's another easy trick to try for a week & see if it makes a difference in your situation. The OTC version is pretty cheap & well worth a small investment? Good Luck!
