Default Watch out if you have a digital scale

For the last two weeks I have become increasingly frustrated with what appeared to be a stall in my weight loss. I use a digital scale and weigh a couple times a week. This morning, after my weekend weigh in, I was at my wits end after the scale showed I was starting to GAIN weight. This was total BS because I have been sticking to the plan with only a few miss-steps. Well....this story has a good ending but it comes with a warning to all who use digital scales. After feeling sorry for myself I decided to "blame the scale" and see if I could justify my accusation. I found out I was not calibrating my digital scale properly. It was actually off by 5 pounds, not in my favor. After properly calibrating the scale it turns out I HAVE been losing weight at the proper rate. It just so happened that the scale was becoming more out of calibration at the same rate as my weight loss. So if you have a digital scale please make sure you are calibrating it correctly...you just may end up with a pleasant surprise today. Or....if it's been out of cal in your favor....sorry.

Another thing is that if your scale was always a little off b a pound or two it can get more off the more you lose.

For my scale the way to calibrate is to use your foot to quickly push the scale until you hit ~25lbs then quickly take your foot off. The scale will blink and then read "C" right before it turns off. This means it was a proper calibration and re-zeroing. Good luck!
