Default hhhhmmmmmm, do I tell him or not?

Saturday night, I'm going out on a first date with a guy that I barely know. He wants to take me out to dinner and dancing. Should I tell him I've had the sleeve before we go out? Or should I just wait until we are ordering at the restaurant? I mean eating light and only taking two bites is kind of a big difference! Or do I tell him at all at this point?

I don't want to seem like I've got way too much drama in my life with the whole sleeve story. Then again I don't want to end up making him feel totally uncomfortable when he is on the main course, and I'm already full (stomach making all sorts of weird noises and really needing to burp out loud)!

Oh, and how ironic is this - The guy is a very successful personal trainer now for 30+ years. I'm not sure if this is a god-send or a nightmare!

Wow that is awesome! Congrats on the first date! (personal trainer!! score!!) Personally, I would tell him. It would be better to let him know beforehand rather than getting on the date with him, possibly making him uncomfortable, and then having to go through the rest of the date uncomfortably if he takes it the wrong way. Letting him know before hand, and telling him "I don't want to tell you a sob story, but you should know this in advance" would give him a chance to let the idea settle. Anyway, that is my personal opinion.

ABSOLUTELY! I already ran into this issue and the BOTTOM line is you want a guy who can respect EVERYTHING about you!!!!!! Reality is, some guys will NOT approve of this and if not then they are not good for you because they will never respect you or the life time decision you have committed to. Finding someone to respect and support you with this decision is extremely important to have a successful future healthy life. I hope this helps!

I tell everyone that I am in training & have a very special diet that I have to eat in order to stay on track to my goals. If he is a personal trainer, I am sure that he will understand. If it is a first date, I really don't think your under any obligation to tell him anything about your personal life.

I agree with Dave. The date should be fun not a confessional.

I don't know if I would tell him right away. What if he announced to you, "By the way, I've had hair plugs." You wouldn't be able to stop looking at his scalp. If you tell him, he may keep checking out your bod (NOT in a good way), and pump you for information about your former weight. I'd wait for a 2nd or 3rd date to tell him. I might tell him you had a late lunch, and just get something small. Wait and see if you really like him! Good luck! Keep us updated!

If it came up, I'd admit it. If you don't, it will come up down the road and I would think you are less-than-honest. I'm a guy and it wouldn't matter to me if my date had been sleeved.

I think it personally comes down to what you want to do. It's none of his business. Nothing at this point should even have to do with anything from your past. Now if you're going to go swimming or something then he may be slightly curious about the scars, which you could just tell him what I tell people if they ask.... "I went to Juarez, Mexico, and was abducted and had part of my stomach removed and sold on the black market! :P

In all seriousness though, if you want to tell him now tell him. If you don't then don't. If you don't want to right now and he really has a problem that you didn't tell him on ya'lls first date (assuming there are more) then he's a douche anyways. I personally couldn't see myself making it a point to tell a girl Im on a first date with that I had weight loss surgery. Not that I'd lie if it came up.

Ok now I feel like Im just saying the same thing over and over, so Im just gonna shut up right after I say good luck, and whichever you decide to do, is the RIGHT choice.

Edit: Wow I just noticed I over looked a few posts that said what I wanted to in so many less words!!! /facepalm lol
