Default Plateau already????? what the heck....

Wondering if anyone else has experienced any plateaus along the journey? Since November, I have only lost 2#s. I just don't get it. My calories have averaged about 774 per day & my doc only wants me at 800/day. I log all of my food intake & take my vitamins as well. I exercise at lease 30 minutes per day - 5 days/per week. I am concentrating on my protein intake & avoiding carbs.

Looking for any suggestions or feedback from anyone else in this boat?

I still have a long ways to go, but can't believe this plateau is taking so long to get over. Thoughts? I had surgery August 2013.

sounds like you are doing everything you are suppose to but you shouldn't be plateued for this long. I would recommend taking all this info to the NUT for professional advice.

My 6 month is scheduled for Feb 15th. I am also planning to email/talk to the nutrition that day as well. Thanks! It's just so frustrating to say the least.

You might not be eating enough..I was doing 700-800 and was told by my doc..your body after a while goes into starvation mode..You need to eat more..he told me between 1100-1200. I have hit several plateau's..I am actually at one right now..It wasn't to hard to get the other ones moving, i would just eat more...now I am kinda baffled and hoping it will pass soon...Good luck on your journey...My advise would be to eat more..even if you add 150-200 calories a day and see what you get..It should kick start your body again..

Have they checked your thyroid hormone levels? That kind of plateau and weight loss isn't what you expect with the gastric sleeve. I wonder if there is something else going on like hypothyroidism. Try to up calories before 6 month check like the other posts say and see if it changes anything. Then you can tell doctor all you have done at that visit. Please let us know what your doctor says. Fingers crossed.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I will try to increase a bit to see what happens. Never even thought about my thyroid levels....I'll have to ask that too. I am sure that I will have to do more bloodwork at my apt anyhow

Yep, I went an entire month without losing a single lb...didn't worry aobut it though, knew that my body was just adjusting, with as little as we eat don't fret, you will start losing again.

Hi, Just wanted to let you know..from what I said earlier...I bumped up my calories another 100 since I was stuck..well now I have lost 2lbs..So I am guessing starvation mode was happening again..also remember the more exercise you do and the more muscle mass you build..your body will need a little more to keep it going...I am almost 5 months out and am up too 1200 calories a day..I don't see going to much over that..so not sure what will happen next time..good luck
