    Default 6 months out

I had my surgery in June, at first the weight came off nicely, now in the last 2-3 months it is coming off much slowly, a few pounds a month. Is this common? I have increased my exercise and I am watching what I eat. I am beginning to become frustrated. What has anyone else done to come over this hump?

Do you use a calorie counter to monitor what you are taking in?

Are you getting enough protein? According to my dietitian, if you are not consuming the recommended amount of protein, your weight loss will slow down. If this is the case and you make the right adjustments and no change, I would make an appointment with the dietitian. Good luck!

I do track and I try to get my protein in, I am very conscious about it due to hair loss, still very slow, my dietician states its a pattern with me slow weight loss then a big weight loss, I just am waiting I guess for the big weight loss, and its taking its time to get here. I will continue to struggle on and not get disappointed.

As long as you were doing what you are supposed to be it will happen.

I can relate big time right now. I have not lost much since Thanksgiving. Then I put on 2 pounds over Christmas. Then this week out of the blue I lost 6.5 pounds. I wouldn't say it was my best week of eating, but I did pretty good..... I would give myself a B-. I went to the gym 3 times. Nothing really out of the ordinary. It is just weird and frustrating that a month ago when I wasn't losing anything week to week I would be eating extremely clean and at the gym 5 times a week and would drop nothing to less than a pound.

Highest known weight: 406 lbs May 2013
    Surgery weight: 383 lbs
    Month 1 - 23 lbs
    Month 2 - 17 lbs
    Month 3 - 13 lbs
    Month 4 - 8 lbs
    Month 5 - 4 lbs
    Month 6 - 10 lbs
Month 7 - 3 lbs (I and others really noticed inches though)
    Month 8 - 7 lbs

I tend to drop my weight at the month within the first week. Then the whole rest of the month NOTHING. Everyone loses differently.
