Funny you should ask. Last night I was at a party and had a hot stuffed banana pepper. It was delicious spicy hot!!! Driving home OMG it wanted out and it wanted out bad!!!!! I made it home but, yeah it didn't want to stay in my stomach! I do however use hot sauce on alot of different foods and that seems ok.

I love very spicy food but have been afraid to try again after I put some in my soup on 13 day out. I got lots of gas from it.

At first hot spicy foods bothered me, and I too l <3 ve them! But, 3 months out this week and the Extra Hot Kung Pao Chicken I had last night went down noooo problem! Yay! So, it does get better. I never quit trying, I just take a nibble and if it's going good have more. I bought the Kung Pao Chicken in a kit from the freezer section at Costco. Makes 9 servings, high protein/low carb ratio, low fat. Great flavour. I will be making them again. I've also had other hot things which have gone well - for me tomato sauces/salsa still give heartburn. I think the tomatoes are just too acidic. I try things and if they don't go well, then try them again a week or two later and often it is better.

I love love love spicy food. I am a spicy food fanatic. Our favorite takeouts are Indian and Thai. I hope I can still eat them after surgery.
