    Default Post surgery problems

    Hi,

I was just sent home from the hospital yesterday after having my sleeve op Monday and I have a few questions about what is normal or not.

1.i still haven't passed gas although I hear it in there, nothing comes out...normal or not?

    2. My tummy is tender to the touch and not necessarily around incision sites, it appears bloated so may be from gas???

    3. Also, I started bleeding while urinating and it was clots and brown, nurse at hospital said this was due to trauma from the catheter and unless it was fresh blood she said not to worry. Now that I'm home it is fresh blood and lots of it, I haven't had a "normal" period for nearly 2 yrs so I don't know if it has to do with that or could I be bleeding from something else?

Any answers, suggestions or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I would contact your doctor about the bleeding as soon as possible just to rule out that it could be related to incisions inside. As for the gas...I had my surgery on Monday as well and this has been so difficult for me! All I can say is get up and walk and change positions, eventually you will start burping some. Also I have been lying in the fetal position, face down with my butt in the air and that seems to help too

    of course call your Dr.

I had a period when I shouldn't have my doctor said it was my hormones. He said if it was light it would be okay. If it was heavy call him or go to the ER.

I did have clots and that was meds given to me for blood cloting so that was normal.

I called my doctor's office earlier and they said that if it isn't painful it is "most likely" the start of my period. But it's still a lot of bleeding, I'm going to call again tomorrow if it's still heavy like it was today, my dr will be out of the office all of next wk and I dot want to miss him just scary scary!

My catheter hurt like hell when they took it out. It hurt a lot when I went to the bathroom for about 3 or 4 times. It finally got better and I did have a little bit of blood. I also started my period and bled heavier than I have in years and longer amounts of days. It sucked. I realized it was the surgery and changes to my body.

Oh gosh, that doesn't sound right. Is it blood in your urine, or your menses? If it isn't your period, do not wait. Please keep us posted.
