Default How often do you weigh yourself?

I promised myself I wouldn't buy a scale and drive myself crazy with what it says. Well guess what? I did and I am. I haven't lost a pound in about five days. I'm only two weeks post op. Shouldn't it be coming off quick at this point? It was up until 5 days ago. I'm not cheating or doing anything I'm not suppose to do.

I weigh every day. Keeps me on track and I'm real about the scale. I know it will go up and down, but I use as a guide. It is my friend.

No more than once per week. It keeps me from obsessing from the little ups and downs while making me aware if there is a problem I need to adjust for.

I weigh once per week. I have my husband hide the scale from me - I'm too neurotic to weigh every day.

I weigh twice a day! lol. I wouldn't be concerned about not losing in a few days. It happens when you start eating "real food". It happened to me too. Once your body adjusts, you'll start losing again. At least, that's what happened with me. Hang in! The scale is your friend! lol.

Just weigh once a week. I stalled the second week and didn't lose any but it's ok. ( for my first month I lost 27lbs total) We're gonna have stalls throughout the whole process...so if you know you're eating right and getting your fluids in then just keep on keeping on....but don't weigh daily!

Ugg I hate the scale! I try to weigh every few days but things are going soooooo slow I try not to pull it out but honestly just can't believe its not moving much. I just started the regular diet yesterday but honestly haven't really tried much that I couldn't eat two weeks ago. Trying to get my calories up because the doctor & dietitian want me closer to 800 calories then 600. So far, not impressed with the weight loss in 6 weeks - not even 20 pounds since surgery- frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I only pay attention to the first thing in the morning weight but some days I weight 3-4 times. I find it interesting what drinking extra water or bathroom issues can do to/for our weight. I am fascinated by the number on the scale these days and still have a hard time believing that I have lost so much. I never get upset by my number anymore so I do not feel that my fascination is unhealthy for me. I think you should weigh as often as what makes you feel good. But when you start having issues with the scale then maybe its time to back off a little.

You're not losing because of the third week stall. Very normal.

For my first six months I usually weighed only every other week. Now that my first six months are up, I have a new scale regimen. I weigh every morning and note the weight on my phone, but I don't (okay I try not to) obsess with the daily number or consider it particularly meaningful. Each Saturday I average my weight for the week and that is the important number and the one I enter on MyFitnessPal where I track my weight.

I didn't weigh often during the first six months because I know weight tends to come off fairly easily if you are following a strict plan, which I was, and am. But there can be stalls, plateaus, and occasional weird fluctuations with no rational explanation, so I didn't want to get freaked out by that. Weighing only every couple of weeks did that - I went through the first six months and never had a stall that I knew about it, my weight always dropped nicely according to the scale and I didn't freak out. But I know it gets harder after six months, even if you are following a very strict weight loss plan and being faithful to it, so I wanted more accountability and knowledge about what's going on with my body so I can tweak things if necessary.

I only weigh on Monday. And those first few weeks, you're body is getting it's fluids in balance so it's expected to not see movement for a period of time. It will come off. It may be fast, or it may be slow, but it will come off. This isn't a race. I know old diets were that way, lose as much as possible as quickly as possible, because it's only gonna stay off for a little while! Just follow your plan and live your life. It will happen!

I weigh daily but use it as a guide more than to give me good or bad news. If the results mess with your head, then you should probably weigh less often.
