Shapeware? Girdles? ?

I have religiously worn "shapeware", which my husband lovingly calls my "exo' (short for "exo-skeleton") for the last 2 years. I know I wasn't kidding anyone, it never made me look skinny but it sure smoothed out the lumps, bumps and rolls. I've not worn it since surgery since I've not gone any wear. I've stayed in my jammies as my main incision is right about my belly button where my waist band goes.

I am 13 days post-op and wore my "exo" today for the first time. That mo fo hurt like hell! Each of my healing excisions felt like I got stung by 100 bees! I had oh so carefully put in on, didn't rub or tug at any incision, gently pulling the sausage casing up over the owies. I wore it for about an hour while I ran errands taking it off as soon as I got home.

I wonder if I hurt myself? I am too embarrassed to call the Dr. office. My incisions look fine but I'm pretty sore!

I'm sorry but I did giggle at your description of the thing when it inflicted pain upon you! I would think you are fine but if it still bothers you tomorrow give your doctor a call. I would stop wearing it until your incisions have healed and especially if you have stitches. Pretty soon you won't even need it!!

LOLLLL This is the thing im looking forward to the most after my surgery ive worn those things religiously for the past 4 ys.....cant wait to no longer wear em.
