WALK, WALK, WALK
It's the only way to get rid of the air in your belly that is probably causing most of your discomfort. The pain from the gas can not be treated with your pain pump, you have to work it out. Since the air is outside your bowels, it's a little harder to pass than normal gas.
My first day after surgery I felt like I had been run over by a truck and I wanted to reverse every decision I have made.
The recovery sucks, but it is short. For most of the people I know, the bad part is over in the first week.
As bad as it sucks to get out of bed, the more you can walk, the better you will feel.
