    Default Birth control and sleeve?

Okay so lets talk birth control and sex!

If anyone is in the childbearing age (like me) what is your birth control type...hormonal or non hormonal birth control?

I hear fertility returns with a vengance after the sleeve! lol

Ive never been on the pill or IUD in my life...I don't ovulate on my own at all!

At my medical clearance appt the PA said to at least use condoms!

Who wears condoms for sex anyway! LOL Except for high school kids! lol

    Thoughts/feedback

    Thanks

My gynecologist said that I would have to switch to a birth control patch after my surgery. Right now I'm taking Yaz, which is a tiny little pill. I honestly thought that since it's so small it would be ok but she doesn't think so. Oh well, birth control patch here I come! haha Good luck!!!

I was told a lot of birth control does not work over a certain weight, and was told the iud is the best option, if that does not work they are going to then there is these implants in the arm or something

I would go with the IUD. I had one implanted a year ago and now barely have a period at all (2 light days) no cramps or mood swings and it lasts 5 years. Only downside, may be TMI, but sometimes my husband can feel the strings poke him. It can also help if you have fibroids, endometriosis or heavy periods. I had my tubes tied 11years ago so I didn't need it for birth control but for heavy periods. Best of luck to you!

I have implanon that the insert in your arm this is my first birth control ever I hate how it makes me feel though. I got it In march because I wanted to have surgery and not become pregnant in the process it last for three years which is a plus, sometimes it makes me feel like I'm pregnant though.

My surgeon said that they recommend using both a hormonal birth control AND a barrier method like a condom. That once you start losing weight you become a fertile Myrtle and getting pregnant while losing weight is dangerous so it is best to use 2 methods for the first year.

My doctor suggested the old fashion condom route. I developed PCOS after taking depo shots in my late teens so I'm very much against putting any false hormones and chemical into my body that I don't absolutely have to. He said pills are not as effective for WLS patients anyways. Anywho best of luck to you!

Drats! My boyfriend can't stand condoms! But I think that's how most men are. I'm just going to push for them I guess, because I know it.costs a lot to have something implanted into you and then to be charged to have it taken out. The last gyno I saw said that she stopped offering the patch because it doesn't stick for long. And I have heard that bc pills are barely potent after surgery! Bummer! Condoms it is…

Good news for future mommies: I was watching the news channel and studies are showing that women who have children after wls should notice that those children are a much healthier weight than children born while in the womb of their obese mom. So, wls benefits both your health and that of your children!

    Weight Loss:
6 Month Requirement with Nut = 41 pounds

    3rd mo = 9 pds
    4th mo = 16 pds
    5th mo = 11 pds
    6th mo = 9 pds
    7th mo = 4 pds
8th mo = 1 pd (bad food choices)
    9th mo = 4 pds
    10th mo = 3 pds
    11th mo = 3 pds

Nice I would really like to wait about two years after surgery to become pregnant if I can help it! I'll be 27, 28 years old by then so that seems a good age to have children!
