After sugery check in

Hello All, Well my surgery is behind me. It went well. It was Wednesday. I stayed in the hospital two days as opposed to one because the pain meds they were giving me were making me extremely nauseous. That is the worst. No pain though. Once they switched my medicine it helped trememdously. I do feel pretty good since I got home yesterday. Trying to wak as much as I can to get rid of the gas - belly is really bloated. Its only temporary. I must say I feel really good tonite. Just walk walk walk - it is so important. The surgery area itself does not hurt at all. I am really excited because tomorrow I will progress from liquids to puuddings and creamed soups. Not hungry though. Make sure you keep your fluids and follow your drs instructions. It is going to be wonderful. Thanks to you all for your thoughts, prayers comments etc. It helped me through- especially when I first woke up and thought OMG! What have I just done. I will keep updating as much as possible, although everyones experience will be different, it is noce to hear everything. I have had a Headache that will not quit. I am guessing its from no coffee for the last 4 days? We will see I usually only drink 2 cups but thats the only thiing I can think of. I will check in soon.

This is encouraging! I am having my surgery on Wed., the 22nd. I am really believing this will go smoothly. I hope they use delotid for pain instead of morphine, however. What switch did they make with yours? Unbelievable that you are already eating cream soups. That is amazing! Hoping you continue on your road to a beautiful life!

Sounds like everything thing is going great. This is so encouraging to me as well. My surgery is just around the corner and I'm getting a little anxious.

What kind of pain meds did they give you? Percocet gives me a killer headache! I refused it for this surgery. Coffee too though, that's why I tried to get any withdrawals I would have over and done with during the pre op diet, I didn't want to suffer that at the same time as surgery. Glad you are doing well, headache aside.

Good morning! Headache is subsiding finally. I feel really good today. Took a long walk last evening and plan on same thing today. Do not underestimate the power of walking. Toda my diet switches to cream soups, puddings, yougurts. That stuff has not sounded so good. Its not belly hunger I think its head hunger for the taste orethan anything else.

You will find that each day you will feel better and better. The first week after surgery I felt so dang good!!!

just to share mine a little. my main worry is that there will be a leak. that worry keeps me pretty honest. my surg was a breeze. went to sleep, woke up 6 hrs later & it has been a life changer. u have to modify ur protein & liquid intake but we prob should have anyway!
