Pre-op Diet Translator Needed!

My question to patient liaison:
Regarding my 3-day Pre-op diet: Does this include protein shakes or clear liquids only?

Answer:
Protein shakes are fine until the last three days which will be clear only as long as they are low carb shakes.

HELP: Can someone please translate the above answer?

Should read:

Low carb protein shakes are fine until the last three days at which time diet should be clear fluids only.

Clear fluids would be any fluid you can see through such as apple juice, chicken broth, water, Crystal Light, etc.

lol In that case, it seems like they edited an instruction sheet for a longer pre-op diet but failed to change the quantity of days.

What did the Doctor's office say? 1 day clear liquids only?

I am going to have all liquids, including non-dairy protein shakes, just nothing solid...Broth without meat or veggies, etc. The clear liquids will be post-op, for sure!

My diet is liquids the 2 days before...and then CLEAR only the day before.
