My insurance appeal was APPROVED! The longest eight months of my life, I swear, but all worth it in the end! My surgery date is Monday, February 4th! I'm. SO. Excited!!!!!;
Congratulations!
8 months! Wow! I'm just starting, have had my consultation: I'm 100 lbs overweight but I'm not fat ENOUGH, or sick enough for my insurance. I have to gather 6 years of weight history and then wait for the insurance company to deny it, then ask for an appeal.... etc. Then do all the appts, 6 mos weight los program, and psych appt etc.. I'm hoping for June... do you think that is doable?
So happy for you! Get 'er done!
Congrats! Soon you will be on the sleeved side.

I am soooo Excited for you. I got my official appoval a little over a week ago and I was through the moon so i can imagine how excited you are.. Mine is jan 30.
Well don't put a time limit on yourself, I have seen people go through a year before they got everything straight. took me 6 1/2 mos. I was thinking 7 mos but I started in aug with nut visits, blood work, psych visits, psych tests, and I forget what else. Don't jinx yourself with the denial talk. I thought I would get denied because I have tricare. I am 100lbs over weight and was a candidate for the sleeve. because I didn't have a super lot to take off. 100's is still a lot but you have to do what you have to do. honestly if you have to bitch moan and complain, pardon my french you have to do it. Tell you general doctor your in constant pain if you are. tell them your knees and ankles hurt. these are things insurance companies look for. Make sure if you have gone to a gym make sure you put that down to..If they see you have tried and they know you can do it alone then thats a good thing to get approved.. Good luck and that time will fly by.
Congratulations!
Now's the time to start prepping your kitchen. Get rid of all the old, bad foods and start stocking up on broth, things you can puree, sf popsicles, green or peppermint tea (for any nausea), decaff of course, good stuff, so you're ready when you get home from the hospital.
