My daughter had her WLS 3 1/2 years ago and is still watching her weight. A constant struggle for most of us. Even though she never made it all the way to a healthy BMI she has gotten down to a reasonable weight for her and has maintained it. That would be enough to make a mother proud. But recently she signed up for the Honolulu Marathon which will be in December and has stated a training program to achieve her goal of finishing the race. I find it hard to believe how far she has come in the last 4 years from a 300 lb couch potato to someone who will train for a 26+ mile run. I know as parents we are to set a good example for our children but in my case she is the one setting the good example. I can barely walk a mile let alone run 26. I am so proud of her.
