Well, after almost 8 months of preparation and jumping through insurance hopes, my surgery day is tomorrow. Did really well on the pre op diet - today just clear liquids and citrate of magnesia (oh joy). Started out last May at 255, lost about 12 pounds on my own, and now down another 8 as of this morning on pre-op diet. Thinking i might be around 230 after the clear liquid diet plus the laxative. So looking forward to weighing myself and seeing a 1 instead of a 2 as the first number. I've never been think so i don't know what it's like. A friend of mine who got a gastric band and is doing amazing said something that really struck a chord with me. He said, "Today is the last page in the chapter of your old life. Tomorrow is the first page in the chapter of my own life." Keeping with that theme, I know that I am the author of what happens after the surgery. I can stick with what the dieticians prescribe or I can find ways to go off the post op diet plan and regain. And I for one am not going back. Being able to handle the pre-op diet really gave me confidence that i can control myself around food. I'm so excited and can't wait to update you all how I progress. If you are the type, say a prayer for me please. I really do beleive there is power in that.
