170 is too many. I eat between 20-50 daily. That's carbs-fiber and sugar alcohols. I'll be 6 months out 2/5/14 and so far I've lost 85 lbs. I'm on MFP with a lot of other sleevers and this is typical for daily intake with them also. Some others actually keep their carbs below 20.....that's too hard for me. And I loose at a good rate between 20-50. Best wishes. Hope this helps.

I had a long stall from week 3 to week 6. My nutritionist suggested I back off the carbs a bit. I was taking in 70-90/day now I am anywhere between 30-50 and the weight started to come off again. Hope this helps.

Wow, I didn't really think about carbs that much, the protein bars have 20+ carbs.....same with granola...greek yogurt..20...skim milk 12...what do you eat for protein? I struggle with meat. I can eat cheese and turkey sticks, some fish, imitation crab and lobster is OK. Give me some more healthy ideas please.

I'm supposed to be between 30 & 60 carbs per day. Usually most of my protein comes from meat, but not always. If you have trouble with poultry or red meat, you may try different kinds of fish - usually fewer calories and more protein, and many sleevers find it easier to eat.
My protein grams yesterday: 1/2 container Sophie brand Greek yogurt - 8, 1 tablespoon Naturally More peanut butter - 4, 1 babybel light cheese - 6, .9 oz turkey pepperoni - 9, 1 T. shredded cheddar cheese - 2, 1/4 c. refried black beans - 4, 1 egg - 7, 20 grams almonds - 4, 1.5 cups CarbMaster reduced sugar milk - 17, 1 scoop Chike coffee protein powder - 10, 1 packet HealthWise hot chocolate protein drink - 15. Total = 87 grams protein and less than an ounce of that came from meat. My carbs ended up at 59, just squeaking in under my limit.

Thanks for that Bessie, will look at that. I with Jacpow how on earth do you keep the carbs so low I can't imagine being able to do that so will need the help of an app to count them. Same question what do you eat daily to keep them so low?

I always look at 2 things on the label: carbs and protein. I only pay a little attention to everything else.

My favourite Greek yogurt has 9g of carb per serving and 12g of protein. Light&Fit Greek. Delicious!

I get most of my carbs now from dairy and fruits and veg. once you eliminate things like cereal, bread, etc it gets really easy to keep the carbs down. Remember too that after your sleeve, you can't eat as much so you're taking in even less.

My main sources of Protien right now are cottage cheese 1/2 c 14 gr of Protien , canned fish like sardines 85 gr can 17 gr of p, herring 100 gr can 19 gr p,eggs make egg sald but use salad dressing instead of mayo less cal and less carbs, fresh fish like salmon, shrimps I find meat like pork an beef difficult still , I can do turkey and chicken if I grind it and use a dressing to moisten. Still working out what I can tolerate. Hope this helps oh my average Protien is around 80-100 gr depending on how many Protien shakes I have per day the one I have has 25 gr per serving I try to keep my Carbs under 40 per day

I forgot to add, it helps to have many sources of protein. Shakes are good if you can find one to supplement. I think I am going to go back to a shake a day to help my calorie intake. I eat a lot of scrambled eggs. I also eat chicken (shredded, moist baked pieces like thighs or breasts (no skin), pork (shredded), beef (shredded or ground, haven't eaten steak yet), ground turkey, I've had a bit of turkey sausage and I liked that, and soft fish (haddock, tilapia, and I eat sushi!)

I also get some extra protein by having some cheese or LF sour cream.

Don't be afraid to eat "weird" things at meal times. I do like to eat a scrambled egg in the morning but I found myself recently eating leftovers in the morning, like a piece of baked chicken that I made the other day.

The recommendation is about 40-60 carbs a day. It also depends on what you eat or drink. Green tea is quite healthy if you can have a cup in the morning. However, about the protein intake, shakes and fresh fruits are great. I hope it helps.

I have a suggestion to decrease your carb intake on milk. Hood makes a Calorie Countdown 2 % milk that only has 70 calories and 3g carbs.
