I had my surgery March 21st. Everything went fine except for on April 15th when I was rushed to the ER by ambulance and then had emergency surgery for an air bubble found in my stomach. I healed up really fast after that and everything has been fine aside from a bad case of pneumonia caused by the anesthesia and dealing with a PICC line with TPN for 2 weeks. I even got to continue with advancing my diet after the TPN was over and everything was going great til last friday when I woke up with intense nausea. I have been dry heaving since. Occasionally I will projectile vomit whatever I was drinking. I called my doctor and he wrote me a script for Zofran, 4mg every 6 hours, but it's not helping much and just giving me a headache. I was able to take pretty large pills even after the second surgery and now I struggle with throwing up after taking those. The biggest problem is waking up in the morning or after a nap...it's the worst morning sickness ever. I haven't been able to take my flinstones chewables or any protein shakes because i feel so miserable and the taste is so awful to me. I went to the ER on Tuesday where they contacted my surgeon's team and did an X Ray and bloodwork and found nothing wrong, so they just said I need to force myself to start eating and wrote me a script for more Zofran. Does anyone have any advice? I'd rather deal with pain than this nausea...it's so awful.
