Default Am I Worrying For NO Reason?!

It's been 4 months since my surgery and I've only lost 57 pounds. I feel like I should have lost more. I have been eating right, doing exercise (Granted, I do have my lazy days, but then again, don't we all?) I've cheated on eating, give or take a few things, but I have been eating healthy. When I eat, I feel like my stomach is broken, because I can eat two sticks of cheese. I've been eating protein like it's going out of style, but nothing. What should I do? I need to hide the scale too.I keep getting on the scale. EVERYDAY. I don't know why I do this, but I do. Now I feel like I haven't lost any. I portion my meals and everything...and no weight (it seems) has come off. Can anyone give me any pointers to keep the weight falling off? Thanks

I would kill for that kind of weight loss in 4 months. 14.5 pounds per month average is way better than mine is looking like it will be. How is your exercise routine? Pre surgery my only significant weight loss in my life was with exercise. Once I injured my back and could not do it any longer the weight came back. I know that's how it will be for me now. I start doing water aerobics in November and am hoping it helps.

Remember, slow and steady wins the race.

Walking (I did a 5k walk at the beginning of the month), swimming, little things around the house. Zumba, BBL, other things....

You sound like me that i can eat whatever I want and that's a curse and a blessing. I would go back to basics and log every morsel of food that goes into your mouth. And take your scale to a neighbor's house or something. I love MyFitnessPal.com and have used it religiously for over 6 months and I will use it every day for the rest of my life. Beyond I don't know what to say except be patient which really sucks because we all know how much fun that is. Just focus on being healthy and happy and go back to basics and step up the exercise any way you can.

5 Day Pouch Test totally isn't needed for someone who's losing above average. That's not a go-to answer.

57lbs in 4 months, that's awesome! The average loss is 10lbs a month, and you're above that. Your loss is going great!
When you say you can eat two cheese sticks... as in, two string cheeses? What's wrong with that? That's not very much, and if that's all you're eating at one sitting, that's nothing to be worried about. I'm at 5 months out, and am instructed to eat 1/2C-3/4C food at a time. Some foods I can eat more of than others, but I'm usually around the 1/2C mark.

Keep doing what it seems you're already doing- keep your protein up, keep up with fluids, and make healthy choices. :]

I used to be discouraged about my slow weight loss, but slow and steady wins the race. I've cheated a lot, but I was also concerned about the loose skin which comes with fast weight loss. I look at the lost inches and the fact that I never be able to eat the amount of food I used to even if I wanted. Keep the faith!

I don't think you are losing slowly. How many grams of protein do you eat each day?

It is not a sprint, it is a marathon.

Go to the top left of the page where it says "Search the Forum" and type in "Pouch Test" - you will find a lot of information and discussions about the 5-day pouch test, which basically is just an eating program similar to what you had shortly after surgery, to jump start your weight loss again.
