Met with Dr regarding constipation-

So Ive gone about a week with out going. Sorry if tmi- I tried monday and was in pain for over an hour with no relief. I took a dulcalax and it did nothing. Saw my dr today and she said I was very constipated and that was causing allot of the lower abdominal pain I am having. She has me taking a dulcalax suppository tonight and Miralax 1 x day until things get normal. Then colace daily after that... Anyone else have it this bad? I am also trying to add more raw veggies to my diet as the fiber supplements havent been helping.

Sorry about your dilemma,however, I may have a solution for you. Coconut oil. I would try the expeller pressed virgin type. You can get this at a health food store. Another type can be found at Wal-Mart,the brand name is LouAnn in the cooking oil section. Heat a cup of water and put 4 tablespoons of the oil in.
Drink it all. Have something handy to chase it down with. A paper towel to wipe your mouth with will also be helpful. In about an hour or two you should get your desired result. Stay close to your bathroom,once the pain hits you will be in trouble if you are too far away. Good luck.

Constipation is a common problem for some of us, especially in the begining.
Once you finally go, my gastroenterologist recommended that I take milk of mag, once a day.
Started doing that, and now I don't need it. I am eating well and between taking extra fiber (vitafusion gummy fiber) and coffee in the morning, I am pretty regular. Don't let yourself go that long again without a BM. It is very painful, which I'm sure you know.

I put fruits in my protein shake that I drink every morning. It adds lots of fiber to my diet. Make sure you are getting enough liquid. And some vegs at lunch and dinner. It doesn't need to be raw if you can't tolerate raw veggies.

I have read some people got impacted bowel. You don't want that. It is very painful.

No impacted bowel doesnt sound good..
