Default Zoloft and recently sleeved issues?!? Anyone else?

I sleeved Thursday the 9th, feel like I have been mending good. Although my only issue is when I took my zoloft.... OH MY from my throat to my belly I hurt, burned and became miserable. Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts on remedy as I need to stay on the Zoloft.

    Thanks, T

I found that Zoloft irritated my tummy before the surgery. Lots of people have tummy troubles with Zoloft.
I am now on cymbalta and have no problems with the sleeve and cymbalta.
Ask your pharmacist if there is a way to make it go down easier. Also tell your doctor, maybe they have some suggestions. Feel free to call the nurse tomorrow.

I don't take Zoloft but I am on Cymbalta and it is a capsule. I took it in hospital, had no trouble swallowing it, just sipped water before and after. But don't come off it, because you know you will crash and have to start to build up again.

I am not on an anti-depressant, but take Ambien and Ativan to sleep at night. Since my surgery 6 days ago, I have been crushing and putting in greek yogurt. Goes right down -- doesn't taste very good, but for a good night's sleep, I'll choke down almost anything. Maybe by crushing it, it might work a little better. Worth a try.

I had trouble with my pills at first too. I went with an antacid "chaser". I'd take my pills and follow it with a Gas-X strip or two Tums. It helped a little. Thankfully it didn't last too long for me. All the best!

Im on zoloft and I didnt take it for 3 weeks - I didnt take any pills. I couldn't stand the thought of trying to swallow them. But I just started back on them (because you know how we get when we dont have our zoloft!!!) and they go down ok but I feel a tad sick for about 10 minutes once they hit stomach. Then Im good to go. I broke them in half at first so I was swallowing smaller portions at a time. Now I swallow whole. Maybe you just need to wait a bit before trying to take pills. I crushed one in the hospital (well the nurses did) and mixed it with water and it was HORRIBLE!! So I decided not to take them until I could swallow pills safely . Best of luck.

I couldn't crush them either. I noticed that if I haven't eaten anything and then take it, they get stuck above my diaphragm and start dissolving - major pain and vomiting. Now I make sure I take them with a spoonful of yogurt or something to eat. Good luck!

They do have zoloft in liquid form. I had some when I had jaw surgery...I don't know how it tastes since I couldn't bring myself to swallow any more liquid medications. I ended up just opening my mouth a teeny bit to swallow them.

check with your doctor if there is a alternative, it was rough not taking it, but the pain was horrible! Might have just been me, the size was not the problem, not sure what was. See if there is a liquid form maybe....Good luck
